Polyquest

Projet Polyquest

Polyquest is a team interactive game inspired from Laser Game playable with smart phones. The main purpose of this game was to allow a group of friend to play where ever they want! In a few words, the game would allow two team to fight together with their mobiles as a weapon.

Definetly more than a School Poject, Polyquest was the initiative of 5 Engineers specialized in this domain and all passionate by Embedded Systems. In two years, this project gained a lot in Maturity since we are now able to show our first prototype.

We also proposed our project in the same line as the Challenge Jeunes Pousses 2008.

RPG Project

More recently, I started a brand new project I was keeping in my head for too many time: realize a RPG in JAVA.

The idea was to use the famous green man from Nintendo. This project is very ambitious and it will definitely take a lot of my time before proposing a first playable version.

There is a little idea of what the game might looks like:

Graphics are all generated by Swing. Using some simple XML files are enough to describe the element that compose the place you can see above. Non Playable Characters are also described in this same XML file. In this version of the game, the green man is already controlled by the player and Non Playable Characters are just randomly wandering. However, this version does not allow to go somewhere else.

Picture Sender :

This embedded system project was proposing to automate the download of pictures from a phone to a PC. Each time you take a picture, you can either decide to store it for later or to send it to your PC.

Then the phone is automatically opening a Bluetooth connection to the PC. On the phone side, the application is implemented in J2ME while the PC Application is in C#.

World Of Zuul :

World Of Zuul is another video game project developed in the same line as my Master’s degree. The subject was really opened and we were supposed to develop a game that used to contain simple places from which you have different directions choice.

Programmed with JAVA and Swing, there is a screenshot from this game:

Using the console on the bottom of the GUI, the player have ability of choosing where he wants to go. You can only go where the upper right compass rose allows you to go! You can also gather items you find and kick enemy that are in your way. For those who heard or played (a long time ago), this game is strongly inspired from SRAM playable on Amstrad CPC.
